Where clinically appropriate, prescription weight loss treatments may be recommended following your consultation. All prescribing decisions are made by our clinicians based on your individual circumstances — we do not offer a one-size-fits-all approach.

Who our programme is suitable for

Our pharmacist will assess your eligibility at your consultation. Prescription treatments are available to those who meet clinical criteria.

Adults with a BMI of 30 or above

Those with a BMI of 30 or above who have not achieved sufficient weight loss through diet and lifestyle changes alone may be eligible for prescription weight management treatment.
BMI 27+ with a weight-related condition

Those with a BMI of 27 or above may be eligible if they have a weight-related health condition such as high blood pressure, raised cholesterol, or Type 2 diabetes.
Treatment suitability is determined at consultation and is not guaranteed. Our pharmacist will carry out a full clinical assessment before making any prescribing decision. Prescription treatments are not suitable for everyone.

What happens at the consultation? +
Your pharmacist will measure your height, weight, BMI and blood pressure, and ask about your medical history, current medications and weight loss goals. Based on this assessment, they will advise whether prescription weight management treatment is clinically appropriate for you, and discuss your options. The consultation is free and carries no obligation.
Is prescription treatment guaranteed after my consultation? +
No. Prescription treatment is only provided where clinically appropriate following a full assessment. Our pharmacist will discuss all suitable options with you, which may or may not include prescription medication depending on your individual circumstances.
Do I need a GP referral? +
No GP referral is needed. You can book directly with us online or by phone. However, it may be helpful to bring a list of any current medications you take.
How much does the programme cost? +
Your initial consultation is free. Treatment costs vary depending on what is prescribed and the duration of your programme. Your pharmacist will provide full pricing information at your consultation before any commitment is required.
Will I need to follow a diet or exercise plan? +
Yes. Prescription weight management treatments work best alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity. Our pharmacist will provide lifestyle guidance as part of your programme. The treatment supports your efforts — it is not a substitute for healthy habits.
Is this available on the NHS? +
Some prescription weight management treatments are available on the NHS in limited circumstances through specialist weight management services, but access is restricted and waiting times can be lengthy. Our private service allows you to begin your programme without waiting for an NHS referral.

Important information: Prescription weight management treatments are prescription-only medicines (POMs). They are only available following a clinical consultation and assessment by a qualified pharmacist. Not everyone will be suitable for prescription treatment. Individual results vary. All treatments are provided in accordance with GPhC guidelines and relevant UK medicines legislation.
