Corporate Occupational Health
Occupational health assessments and services help ensure you, as an employer, keep the health and wellbeing of your employees a top priority. The good health of your team will contribute to productivity within your business, while also keeping sick days and absences low.
Occupational Health Vaccinations
We offer a range of occupational health vaccinations, following a thorough health assessment, including:
Hep A (Hepatitis A)
Hepatitis A is a liver infection caused by a virus spread from the faeces of an infected person. It is uncommon in the UK, but there are low levels of risk if your job involves working in sewers, working somewhere where poor hygiene may be present or if you work with animals who may be infected with hep A. If your job role falls into any of these categories, it is advisable for you to have the hepatitis A vaccine.
Hep B (Hepatitis B)
Hepatitis B is an infection caused by a virus that is spread through blood and bodily fluids that can infect and damage the liver. Hepatitis B is contracted when the virus enters an individual’s blood stream, i.e. through an open wound, cut or scratch or from a contaminated needle. If you, or your employees, job role involves contact with blood or bodily fluid then you are at an increased risk of exposure to hepatitis B. Jobs may include healthcare workers, residential care workers, prison care staff, cleaners, medical waste disposal staff, and emergency service workers.
Diphtheria, Tetanus and Polio (DTP)
If you, or your employees, job role puts you at risk of cuts that may be exposed to dirt or soil then you can be protected with a DTP vaccine. Diphtheria bacteria can be spread from person to person by coughing or sneezing; tetanus bacteria is commonly found in soil and animal manure and polio is caused by a virus mainly by swallowing food or drink that is contaminated with the faeces of someone who already has the virus.
